Preparing the Quilt

  • Minimum quilting fee is $50.00

  • The backing must be significantly larger than your quilt top—typically at least 3 to 6 inches wider and longer on all four sides. 

  • Fold the quilt top and backing separately.

  • Press all seams down on your backing fabric so they lie completely flat.

  • Quilt backing must be one piece and square.

  • Clip all loose threads from the back and front of the quilt top.

Batting Options

  • Provide your own batting, which must be at least 3 to 6 inches wider and longer on all four sides of the quilt top

  • 80/20 Cotton/Polyester batting 

Disclaimer---Fullness/puckers cannot always be quilted out; we do not guarantee they will not be sewn in; in some cases, excessive fullness may cause the quilt to not be square.

Mechanical Disclaimer---Sewing machines are mechanical devices. Despite careful maintenance, mechanical problems may occur and cause damage to a quilt top or back.

Purple Ballerina Quilting Company is not responsible for damages beyond their control, including flood, fire, theft, or mechanical failure. If the quilt is displayed in a show or publication, I agree to credit the machine quilting to Purple Ballerina Quilting Company.
